Room in the Inn-Memphis is an ecumenical ministry that serves people experiencing homelessness. Now beginning our ninth year, we provide emergency shelter and meals during the coldest months of the year—November through March.

Our goal is to share the love of God through hospitality. Shelter is a basic necessity that more than 2,000 people in Memphis are living without each night. Faith communities have large buildings and volunteers who can provide warmth, hospitality, meals and a good helping of kindness and respect.

If you  would like to participate we will begin in November.  For those who want to volunteer there time each person will choose what they want to help with. They will signup for a particular task on Sign Up Genius.  When we host at Room in The Inn we must provide dinner, breakfast, and lunch for about 30 people. We also do the cleaning and prep for the people who will stay at the Inn. Its a gratifying experience not just for adults and we encourage our children and youth to participate as well.

Matthew 25:40 & 45:40

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me….Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.”

“If we do not recognize Jesus in the poor, he will not be able to recognize us at the Day of Judgment.” Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
